Before becoming a mom, I worked in education, and I loved seeing how much sitting down and reading affected the kids I worked alongside. Whether it was in a group setting or one on one – seeing how much their vocabulary grew and just their excitement for the books was incredible!
A few months before having Theo, I learned about the opportunity to become a consultant with Paperpie. If I am honest, my reasoning for signing up was to earn free or discounted books for our home. I loved the idea of being able to grow our home library at a lower price!
But since signing up, the focus I had for my book club has significantly changed! I have grown my library while also connecting with other families and helping them develop theirs. I have been able to fundraise and donate books to the elementary classrooms in my hometown, as well as helping create new traditions for many families!
My book club has allowed me to gain a love and knowledge for all kinds of books, not just those through Paperpie, but books in general! From babies and toddlers to school-aged children and young adult reads, I have grown my knowledge of non-fiction, classics, and activity books that help promote cognitive development, imagination, creativity, and play. So although my book club started as something to earn some free/discounted books for our home, it has grown into something so much bigger, and I cannot wait to see where else it takes me!
Let’s Have a Book Bash
You are probably thinking, “What in the world is a book bash?” because I know I was when I first heard the term. In a nutshell, a “book bash” is a gathering of people (typically on a virtual platform) who get to learn about the benefits and features of Usborne Books & More books from me! While helping other families learn about the books that will benefit their children, the host of the book bash will earn free books based on the sales gained from the party. Talk about a win, win!
Let’s talk about how it works!
You and I will work together to spread the word about how excellent Usborne Books & More books are through a virtual e-party. Your role is to invite the guests personally (I will help you with this step – it’s super easy!) and get everyone excited about the event. You keep getting everyone pumped up until the “party,” and I will take care of the rest!
I will help your guests create a custom wishlist of books that will be perfect for their child(ren), share entertaining posts with pictures, videos, and literacy tips, and offer some great giveaways to your guests for joining us! The best part about the whole thing is there is no house cleaning needed before or after the party, and everyone can join in right from their couch in comfy clothes!
My goal with my parties is to help promote literacy and help families learn about excellent books for their children. But leading up to the event, my main priority is to make sure you have a successful party and get as many free books as possible!
FUNDRAISE WITH ME
As I have grown my Paperpie business, I have brainstormed new ways to help get books in more children’s hands. One of the best ways that I could think of was connecting with schools, daycares, and libraries. To do this, Paperpie requires its consultants to become certified as Educational Service Representatives. So that is what I did.
As an Educational Service Representative (ESR), I have the opportunity to work my business through home and Facebook parties and through working with schools, libraries, and organizations. From holding book fairs, $5 book days, grant programs, or fundraising, the options of working as an ESR are unlimited!
So if you are an educator, a daycare provider, a superintendent, part of your child’s school PTSO, or just an organization looking for a simple way to raise money, I would love to connect and help you out!

Although I am new to the team-building aspect of Paperpie, when you join my team as a consultant, you will never be alone! I want to work with everyone that joins me on this journey to reach their individual goals. For some, this may just be growing their home library with free or discounted prices, others may be interested in a little extra income every month, and some may be dreaming BIG and want to make this a full-time gig!
